Cottam Diecasting Limited is a producer of zinc and aluminum high pressure die castings. Founded in 1956, the company is located in Tecumseh, Ontario, bordering on Windsor.
The business is a family owned private corporation owned by two brothers – Richard Scratch (President) and Chris Scratch (Vice-President).
We offer a full range of services – part and tool design, tool construction, tryout and part certification, post cast machining, vibratory finishing and shot blast. Various surface finishes (plating, powder coat, chromate, etc.) are available through approved outside suppliers.
The Quality Program is certified to ISO 9001:2008. Extensive use is made of SPC techniques, APQP and PFMEA. An in-house CMM is used to certify both tooling and components. All QA personnel have attained certification through local colleges.
Located in a 65,000 sq ft plant in Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada – just next to the Windsor-Detroit border crossing- we have access to every major freight line or logistics service in North America. We have over 40 years exporting experience and take care of all US Customs paperwork.
We operate nine zinc hot chamber machines from 35 to 800 tons locking force and can cast parts weighing from 20 grams to 5 kg.
We also have two 600 ton aluminum cold chamber machines capable of casting parts up to 5 kg in weight. All casting machines are automated.
